Ukraine gets M270 multiple launch rocket systems: defense minister
Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov said on Friday (July 16) that his country has received M270 multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS) from its partners.
Reznikov tweeted: "The Long Hand family of the Ukrainian army has been enlarged: the first MLRS M270 have arrived.”
Reznikov did not specify which country provided Ukraine with such weapon systems.
In May, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Ukraine was interested in getting the M270 MLRS from the Group of Seven (G7) countries.
Last month, Ukrainian media outlet Ukraine's Military Center reported that Britain and Norway agreed to transfer the M270 MLRS to Ukraine.
Dozens of countries from around the world called on Russia Wednesday (July 13) to halt the war in Ukraine.
They included the United States, member of the European Union, and countries in Asia.
Over 40 countries call on Russia to end Ukraine war in statement to court of justice
In a statement these 40-odd countries said they support Ukraine’s proceedings before the International Court of Justice seeking “to establish that Russia has no lawful basis to take military action in Ukraine on the basis of unsubstantiated allegations of genocide.”
The statement recalls that the court based in the Hague called on March 16 for Moscow to end the war.
