Russia: Retribution is Inevitable, and Its Goal Is to Achieve a Rapid Victory
Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council, Dmitry Medvedev, stated today, Tuesday, that "retribution is unavoidable," sending a message to those who are anxious and awaiting punishment, in reference to recent Ukrainian attacks on Russian territory.
Medvedev wrote on his Telegram channel: "To everyone who feels and expects retribution, anxiety is understandable, and retribution is inevitable." He added, "Our army must advance and continue progressing; everything destined to be destroyed will inevitably be destroyed. Those within our targets will be bombed and obliterated."
He indicated that the aim of negotiations in Istanbul is to achieve a "rapid Russian victory," not merely to reach a peace agreement under unrealistic conditions.
Medvedev also expressed his view that "experts in Istanbul are not necessary for communication to achieve peace under unreasonable terms, but to attain our quick victory and the complete destruction of the 'new Nazi ideology.'" He clarified that this is the core of the Russian memorandum he participated in yesterday.
In a related development, reports emerged of a surprise offensive involving a Russian helicopter operating within Russian airspace, attempting to defend the country's borders by crossing from within the Russian Federation.
The strikes focused on Russian airports, believed to be related to countering threats to Russian identity. Ukraine reportedly launched extensive attacks involving more than 40 military aircraft over a distance exceeding 4,000 kilometers across Siberia.
Meanwhile, a Ukrainian Defense Council official, Andriy Kovalenko, announced that Ukraine targeted at least 13 Russian airbases during its recent attack, as stated in a Telegram post yesterday. He explained that the strikes caused damage to Russian aircraft and confirmed that the attacks also targeted Russian electronic defense systems.
