US Central Command Targeting Arms-Laden Truck Demonstrates Washington's Commitment to Continuing War Against ISIS Terrorist Organization in Syria
The US Department of Defense (Pentagon) announced that US Central Command conducted a successful airstrike on Monday in Deir ez-Zor Governorate in eastern Syria, resulting in the killing of two ISIS terrorist militants.
The ministry explained that the airstrike targeted a truck loaded with large quantities of weapons, which was completely destroyed. The operation occurred in an area under the control of Bashar al-Assad's regime.
In a related context, Central Command had previously revealed on Friday the killing of "Abu Yusuf", one of the organization's leaders known by the name Mahmoud, in a similar operation in Deir ez-Zor.
This escalation is part of ongoing efforts by the US-led international coalition to eliminate ISIS remnants in Syria and Iraq.
Deir ez-Zor is considered one of the most prominent areas with significant ISIS activity, where the organization seeks to reorganize its ranks by exploiting security tensions and weak control in certain areas.
International reports confirm that the support provided by the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in north and east Syria has played a key role in reducing the organization's capabilities in recent years.
