Massive Explosion Rocks Rajaei Port in Iran: 4 Dead and Hundreds Injured

On Saturday, the Shahid Rajaei Port in Bandar Abbas, southern Iran, witnessed a massive explosion captured by surveillance cameras, resulting in at least four deaths and hundreds of injuries.

The video captured the moment of the explosion, where a huge fireball formed over the port. The Fars News Agency reported that high temperatures reaching 40 degrees Celsius, along with the accumulation of flammable materials, contributed to the rapid spread of the fire and the occurrence of the explosion.

While accurate information about the contents of the suspicious containers is still unavailable, initial reports indicate the presence of flammable materials near the explosion site. Fars also noted that a smell resembling sulfur was prevalent in the vicinity of the incident and mentioned that crisis management teams were working to evacuate vehicles from the port to facilitate relief efforts.

For his part, the Director General of Crisis Management in Hormozgan Province stated that preliminary investigations revealed that the source of the explosion was a number of containers stored in Shahid Rajaei Port.
