Russian Forces Conduct Joint Air Exercises with Syrian Troops in Aleppo

Russian forces conducted joint air exercises with the Syrian regime in the Al-Jaboul area of Aleppo countryside in preparation for future joint operations. The training involved the Syrian Air Force at the Kweires military airport, where several helicopters took off to strike hypothetical targets in open areas. Russian warplanes also carried out strikes on ground targets.

These joint drills enhance the combat effectiveness and coordination between Syrian and Russian pilots. In October, specifically on the 12th, new military reinforcements arrived for the Fourth Division, the 25th Special Tasks Division, the Fifth Corps, and the Republican Guard in the outskirts of Aleppo and the western Aleppo countryside. This coincided with reinforcements brought by Hayat Tahrir al-Sham to the western Aleppo front, as well as the deployment of rocket launchers, heavy artillery, and advanced weapons, including American TOW missiles.

The al-Zenki Movement targeted a Syrian regime position in Basartun, west of Aleppo, using a TOW missile. Meanwhile, Russian warplanes conducted 74 airstrikes, which resulted in a massacre that claimed the lives of 11 civilians, including a child, and injured 30 others, 14 of whom were children, due to strikes on a lumber yard, a furniture workshop, and an olive oil pressing facility on the outskirts of Idlib. Additionally, four members of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham, working in the medical field, were killed in Marand.
