President Zelensky describes lack of medical access and launches global donation initiative

The Anews reported, citing the Associated Press, in the nightly video address Thursday (May 5), Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy described a "catastrophic" lack of access to medical services and medicine in areas of the country under Russian occupation.

In those areas, he said almost no treatment was available for those suffering from cancer and where insulin for diabetics was difficult to find or non-existent. He said antibiotics were in short supply.

Zelenskyy also said that during the course of the war, the Russian military has already fired 2,014 missiles on Ukraine, while 2,682 flights of Russian warplanes have been recorded in Ukrainian skies. He said the destroyed or damaged infrastructure includes nearly 400 hospitals and other medical facilities.

In another video on Thursday (May 4), President Zelenskyy addressed the whole world to donate for the victory of Ukraine, which is the victory of the whole democratic countries, according to him. The donations also will be used for rebuilding the war-torn country, and protecting the civilians.

Mr. Zelenskyy said that the donations will be transfered directly to the National Bank of Ukraine, and reports will will be updated regularly every 24 hours.

The global initiative of the President of Ukraine @ZelenskyyUa is the main venue for collecting charitable donations in support of Ukraine.
