Explosion at Ammunition Depot of a Military Faction Amid Ongoing Turkish Attacks
A violent explosion shook the town of Termanin in the northern Idlib countryside due to the detonation of an ammunition depot for reasons that remain unknown, with no information so far about the extent of human and material losses.
In a separate context, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported on January 5 that a strong explosion occurred in the vicinity of al-Khalakhala Military Airport in the northern Suwayda province, where flames were seen rising from the site, coinciding with the sound of warplanes flying overhead. Violent explosions were also heard in the Tal al-Shahm military area southwest of Damascus, with smoke rising from the site of the incident.
On another front, the Turkish Air Force conducted three airstrikes targeting a vehicle and positions near the Kharzair intersection in the Ma'bada (Karki Laki) area of the Qamishli countryside, with no reports on human losses so far. The skies were filled with Turkish military and drone aircraft during the attack, alongside artillery shelling on positions in the Qamishli countryside.
Additionally, a Turkish drone targeted a communications and internet tower in the village of Qaraqo, west of the city of Ayn al-Arab (Kobani) in northeastern Aleppo yesterday, leading to its destruction and cutting off internet access to some nearby villages. At the same time, Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) shot down a Turkish drone of the Bayraktar type in the area of the Tishrin Dam, coinciding with ongoing clashes and shelling between the SDF and Turkish forces along with allied military factions.
Throughout January 6, Turkish drones carried out four airstrikes on various sites in the Raqqa countryside, targeting a house in the town of al-Jarniyah, a military vehicle near the al-Ramalah area, and two adjacent areas for the radio station and bus station in the town of Tabqa.
