Dismissal of 3,000 Teachers and Suspension of 500 Workers in Syria
المدارس السورية (أرشيف)

The Ministry of Education in Syria has announced the dismissal of 3,000 teachers from service, which has sparked widespread reactions on both social and economic fronts. In a similar context, the lists of dismissed personnel published today also included 12,000 employees from the Lattakia governorate, distributed among the Ministries of Health and Education, as well as the Lattakia port.

These measures come amid significant administrative changes in the public sector in Syria, raising questions about their potential impacts on the situation in the affected areas.

In a similar move, the General Company for Iron and Steel Products issued a decision yesterday to suspend 500 workers indefinitely, which has increased fears and dissatisfaction among employees who are now facing the specter of unemployment amid a severe economic crisis.

The official list of names included in the suspension contained many workers, without providing explanations regarding the reasons behind these decisions or setting dates for resuming work. This has heightened concerns about the possibility of further harsh measures in the future, thereby exacerbating instability in the labor market.
