Resumption of Industrial Activity in Sheikh Najjar, Aleppo

The Sheikh Najjar industrial city in Aleppo, regarded as a key center for supporting the Syrian industry, has witnessed the resumption of operations by 960 facilities across various sectors. Additionally, 100 other facilities are preparing to launch once their setups are complete.
In statements reported by the official news agency "SANA," the Director General of Sheikh Najjar, Shuhoud Abdul Aziz, announced his expectations for a 300% increase in investment this year, despite the challenges posed by deteriorating infrastructure that requires comprehensive maintenance.
Syrian focus is shifting toward Aleppo, considered the economic capital of the country, as it positions itself to lead in stimulating local production and increasing foreign exports, particularly following the political upheaval that led to the ousting of Bashar al-Assad's regime and the initiation of a new administration in the country.
The industrial city of Sheikh Najjar is located approximately 15 kilometers northeast of Aleppo and features a strategic location that ensures easy access through a network of ground transportation and railways, in addition to its proximity to the Turkish border. With a new management team appointed on December 3rd, following the liberation of Aleppo in the "Deterrence of Aggression" operation, Syria is embarking on a new political and economic phase after nearly a quarter-century of rule.
Aleppo and its industrial city experienced looting and theft in the years following the outbreak of the Syrian revolution in 2011, which sometimes halted production due to ongoing security risks. Nevertheless, the current recovery in Sheikh Najjar reflects a strong will to return to the path of economic development and stability.
