Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, who is also the Prime Minister, extended his highest congratulations to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, on the official victory of the Kingdom in hosting the FIFA™ World Cup 2034.

This congratulatory message came after the announcement by the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, granting Saudi Arabia the honor of hosting this global event, making the Kingdom the first country in history to host the tournament with the participation of 48 teams from around the world.

The Crown Prince reaffirmed the Kingdom's strong commitment to contributing effectively to the development of global football and promoting values of love, peace, and tolerance, relying on its significant capabilities and resources, as well as the inspiring energy of its people that has contributed to achieving this historic accomplishment.

In a bid to host the tournament, the Kingdom had submitted its official bid on July 29, under the slogan "Together We Grow," through an official delegation in the French capital. The bid included ambitious plans to organize the event in 15 stadiums distributed across five cities: Riyadh, Jeddah, Khobar, Abha, and Neom.

The bid also proposed 10 locations for the FIFA Fan Festival™, including a designated site in King Salman Park, covering an area of 100,000 square meters in Riyadh, as well as a walkway along Jeddah's waterfront.

Hosting the FIFA™ World Cup 2034 presents a golden opportunity to highlight the ongoing progress the Kingdom has witnessed since the launch of Saudi Vision 2030. This vision has resulted in hosting over 100 major sporting events, including the FIFA Club World Cup and the Formula 1 race, contributing to the achievement of sports objectives and positively reflecting on the national economy due to the growing role of sports in the Kingdom.
