Al-Burhan's firm statements indicate escalating military confrontation with RSF and closure of political settlement path

Sovereignty Council Chairman General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan denied Monday any negotiations with Rapid Support Forces (RSF), conditioning their disarmament and assembly at specific locations.
During a conference in Port Sudan, Al-Burhan emphasized his determination to eliminate the "rebel militia," denying circulating news about settlement or calling political forces for conference in Arkaweet.
He confirmed armed forces, regular forces, and armed civilians continue operations to eliminate "criminal terrorist Dagalo militia," accusing them of civilian violations and besieging Al-Fashir city.
On the ground, the army advanced in Sennar state, regaining control of Wad Al-Nil, Abu Hajar, and Duntay towns after RSF withdrawal toward Blue Nile state.
Armed forces recaptured "17th Infantry Division" headquarters in Sinja, currently besieging RSF elements in Al-Dali and Al-Mazmoum towns. RSF continues controlling most of Khartoum capital, Gezira state, West Darfur, and parts of Kordofan states.
UN and partners counted over 188,000 deaths and 33,000 injuries since conflict eruption in April 2023. During the conference, Al-Burhan addressed women's issues in eastern Sudan, emphasizing necessity of supporting their role in nation-building and overcoming traditions that denied them education.
