Kuwaiti government submits resignation to Sheikh Mishal Al-Sabah

The Xinhua reported, the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) reported on Tuesday (5 Apr) that the Kuwaiti government has submitted its resignation to Crown Prince Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.

KUNA said that Crown Prince Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah on Tuesday received Prime Minister Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, who tendered the resignation of the government.

On Nov. 23, 2021, the Kuwaiti crown prince issued an order on behalf of the emir to appoint Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah as prime minister and assign him to form a government.

On Dec. 28, 2021, Kuwait formed a new government led by Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah.

It should be noted that the Constitution of Kuwait was approved and promulgated in 17 November 1962.

The political system consists of an appointed judiciary, appointed government (dominated by the Al Sabah ruling family), and nominally elected parliament.
