Israel hits two members of Palestinian security forces, speaks about an error.

Two members of the Palestinian security forces were wounded on Tuesday after a shooting with Israeli forces that attacked Nablus city in the northern West Bank.

According to AFP news agency, the governor of Nablus, Major Ibrahim Ramadan, said that "two members of the Palestinian security were slightly injured in the incident, which happened in the early morning next to the headquarters of the security forces.

The Israeli army stated in a statement that its forces were arresting Palestinian activists when they shoot a target that turned out to be "the wrong target".

They added that "an exchange of fire took place between our forces and those suspected, to find out later that they were members of the Palestinian Security Forces".

"Israel claimed that its forces were exposed to shooting, and they responded to it by shooting at the headquarters building, why they were already there," Maj. Ramadan stated to journalists.

He continued while being in front of the security forces building, "Where is the headquarters? It is in the city centre of Nablus, wondering what is the Israeli Army doing there near the headquarters? There wasn't coordination and this is unacceptable.

In its statement, the Israeli army stated that "there are no casualties among the members of the Israeli forces and an investigation will start soon".

The city of Nablus, in the northern West Bank, is under the Oslo Accord agreement which is between Israel and the PLO, but it is regularly subjected to attacks by the occupation forces.
