the Red Sea Announce Finding Some Survivors from the Sinking of the Tourist Boat "Sea Story"
On Monday, Amr Hanafy, the Governor of the Red Sea, announced that several survivors have been found from the sinking incident of the tourist boat "Sea Story" in the Al-Ghadir area of Wadi Al-Jamal, south of Marsa Alam. The governor confirmed that intensive search operations continue in coordination with the naval forces and the armed forces.
Hanafy explained that a search and rescue aircraft was able to transport some survivors to receive the necessary medical care, while the remaining survivors were secured at the site until the arrival of the frigate "Fateh," which is moving to take them to safety.
The governor pointed out that the governorate's administration is closely monitoring the operations around the clock, with the aircraft and naval units continuing the search for the missing. He emphasized that the safety of everyone is a top priority, appreciating the efforts of all teams involved in rescue operations.
The Governor of the Red Sea had ordered the highest state of readiness and coordination with all relevant authorities immediately upon receiving the report about the sinking of "Sea Story" at 5:30 AM local time from the emergency operations room.
According to the report, an emergency distress signal was received from one of the boat's crew members, which was on a diving trip that departed from Porto Ghalib Port in Marsa Alam, scheduled from November 24 to 29, with a planned return to Hurghada Marina.
The "Sea Story" boat was carrying 31 tourists of various nationalities, in addition to a crew of 14 members.
Immediately, the control center notified the naval base and the maritime rescue center of the armed forces, where search and rescue teams began their operations using a helicopter and a naval unit (the frigate Fateh) that set off from Bernice Port towards the distress location.
