Syrian Government Closes Aleppo Airport Amid Opposition Gains
المعارضة المسلحة تسيطر على "غالبية" مدينة حلب وحكومة الأسد تغلق مطار المدينة

Military sources reported that the Syrian government shut down Aleppo Airport and canceled all flights early Saturday morning, coinciding with the opposition forces' capture of "the majority of the city, including government centers and prisons," according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

The regime's army also closed the main roads leading to the city of Aleppo after commanding its troops to carry out "safe withdrawal" orders, as per Reuters.

Three military sources told Reuters that this action effectively sealed off the city, following instructions issued at checkpoints outside Aleppo to allow only military personnel to pass through.

In a related development, the opposition forces announced the capture of the cities of Anadan, Haritan, and Kafr Hamra, which are located along the international highway to Aleppo.

Additionally, it was reported that the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) deployed in some neighborhoods of Aleppo, confirming that what they referred to as "Deterrence Against Aggression Forces" are conducting "sweep operations" in the area.
