Russia Launches Heavy Offensive in Kursk Region with Support from North Korean Forces

Ukrainian Army Chief Oleksandr Sirsky announced that Russia has initiated a "heavy offensive" in the Kursk region, located in the west of the country, relying on troops from North Korea to drive Ukrainian soldiers out of the area.

In a speech delivered to local officials, Sirsky stated that the Russian army has been carrying out intensive offensive operations in Kursk for three consecutive days, significantly aided by North Korean forces.

As the Russian-Ukrainian war approaches its third year with no sign of nearing an end, the White House announced that North Korean troops are now "on the front lines" in the conflict, actively participating in combat against Ukraine.

In the same context, Ukrainian military intelligence reported on Monday that 30 soldiers from the North Korean units fighting alongside Moscow in the Kursk region have been killed or injured.

This toll marks the first time Kyiv has reported casualties among North Korean forces, reflecting a notable change in the course of the war.

The Ukrainian intelligence agency added in a statement that "the assault groups are being reinforced with new troops to compensate for losses, especially from the 94th Separate Brigade of the North Korean Army, to continue active combat operations in the Kursk region." However, the agency did not provide any tangible evidence to support these claims.
