The restaurant's location near a busy center made the incident more sensitive, prompting a high-level and intensive security response

After a three-hour operation, French security forces managed to free four hostages who were being held inside the "L'Olivier" restaurant in the suburb of Issy-les-Moulineaux near the capital, Paris. They succeeded in arresting their captor, the son of the restaurant's owner, who was armed with a knife.
The incident occurred on Saturday afternoon, when the perpetrator, who suffers from drug addiction problems and is known to the security authorities, held four employees hostage inside the restaurant. Local media reported that family disputes and work issues were behind his actions, while his demands remained unclear despite his threat of suicide.
The French channel "BFMTV" reported that the location, near the busy Porte de Versailles station and an exhibition center, witnessed a large influx of police and firefighters, where the area was completely cordoned off and special units were summoned to deal with the crisis.
The Paris Fire Department reported that the perpetrator was holed up inside the restaurant and there were no customers during the incident. "Le Figaro" newspaper indicated that the number of hostages ranged between three and four employees, while no injuries were recorded among the hostages.
The operation concluded successfully without any loss of life, confirming the effectiveness of the security services in dealing with emergency situations that threaten the lives of civilians and the safety of public places.
