Parents of Students Protest in Front of UNICEF Headquarters in Qamishli Demanding the Right to Education

Dozens of parents of students from the preparatory and secondary certificate levels staged a sit-in on Sunday in front of the UNICEF headquarters in the city of Qamishli, protesting against the denial of their children's right to take exams in Al-Hasakah province.

The families called on the Ministry of Education of the Syrian government and the Education Authority of the Autonomous Administration to allow their children to take their exams in Al-Hasakah, as is the case in other Syrian provinces. The protesters affirmed that their children face the risk of losing their educational future due to these policies.

The parents made an appeal to extend the registration period for exams so that students could complete their paperwork and finalize their registrations. They explained that delaying proposed solutions would exacerbate psychological pressures and increase educational losses for their children.

The protest saw participants holding banners demanding the right to education, expressing their concern that the future of an entire generation is threatened if their demands are not urgently addressed.
