Hikmat Al-Hajri: We Regret Every Drop of Blood Shed Today and Call for an Immediate Cessation of Fighting

The spiritual leader of the Unified Muslims, Sheikh Hikmat Salman Al-Hajri, issued an urgent appeal to the living global conscience, warning of the dangers of military escalation in the Syrian coast, where “innocent lives are lost mercilessly,” while “people flee in search of shelter to protect them from a relentless war.”
In his statement, Sheikh Al-Hajri emphasized that “the fires ignited under sectarian banners will burn all of Syria and its people,” calling on the wise individuals from all parties to intervene immediately to halt the bloodshed and end the cycle of violence. He stressed the necessity of adhering to the law and international norms, asserting that “the guilty must be held accountable under the umbrella of justice and law, away from the language of violence and vengeance.”
Sheikh Al-Hajri urged local and international bodies, as well as the United Nations, to take urgent measures to stop the fighting and spread peace without hesitation or double standards. He noted that “all parties are brothers and children of this homeland, and we regret every drop of blood shed today, as it is a loss for all of Syria.”
The statement also underscored the need to stop systematic incitement campaigns, calling on everyone to be “advocates of love and peace, carrying the banner of justice and humanity in a homeland that needs solidarity, not division.”
Sheikh Al-Hajri concluded his statement by affirming that “we are all family, we are all brothers, and our condolences to the homeland are accompanied by great pain,” reiterating his call for an “immediate and urgent ceasefire to end the fighting.”
