Hamas Again Denies Leadership Leaving Qatar Amid US Pressure

Hamas's Repeated Denial of Office Relocation News Reflects Sensitive Relationship with Qatar Under Increasing US Pressure

A Hamas source made statements to "Al-Arabiya/Al-Hadath" Monday, refuting circulating rumors, marking the second time the movement denied such news within one month.
A movement source previously denied in November the accuracy of relocating Hamas's office to Turkey, where a diplomatic source then refuted all reports about Hamas office moving to Turkish territory.
These speculations emerged with recent Gaza ceasefire and prisoner exchange talks stalling, as a US official stated in November that "the United States informed Qatar that Hamas's presence in Doha is no longer acceptable."
Qatar, alongside Washington and Cairo, sponsored multiple negotiation rounds to reach an agreement ending the Gaza war. The US request to Qatar came, according to the official then, as pressure on Hamas to accept successive proposals rejected by the movement.
Simultaneously, Israeli Broadcasting Authority reported Monday a senior Israeli source claiming progress in Gaza prisoner exchange and ceasefire talks, while urging against excessive optimism.
This coincided with US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan's Sunday statement that no Gaza ceasefire agreement has been reached yet.
