Final Communiqué of the Riyadh Meeting on Syria: Key Highlights

In the context of the meeting held in Riyadh regarding Syria, several important issues reflecting international trends and support for the current situation were discussed. Below are the key points addressed:
1. Concern Over Israeli Incursions:
The participants expressed deep concern over Israel's incursions into the buffer zone with Syria and the adjacent areas, particularly in the Golan Heights and Quneitra Governorate. They emphasized the necessity of respecting Syria's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
2. Supporting the Choices of the Syrian People:
The participants affirmed their solidarity with the choices of the Syrian people and the importance of respecting their will, highlighting the need for the people's voice to be reflected in the political process.
3.Lifting Sanctions and Providing Support:
There was a consensus on the need to lift unilateral and international sanctions imposed on Syria, along with providing humanitarian and economic assistance to alleviate the burden of the crisis on the Syrian people.
4.Supporting the Political Transition Process:
Participants called for support of a comprehensive political transition process that represents all political and social forces and guarantees the rights of all Syrians, emphasizing the importance of including various components of the population in this process.
5. Assistance in Reconstruction:
Steps to support the Syrian people were discussed, focusing on providing necessary aid during this critical phase in their history, with the aim of bolstering efforts to rebuild Syria as a unified, independent, and secure Arab state for all its citizens, free from terrorism, and aware of its sovereignty and territorial integrity.
6. Addressing Challenges Through Dialogue:
The participants expressed their readiness to work on addressing any challenges or sources of concern through dialogue and providing support and advice, reiterating that Syria's future is a matter for Syrians alone.
This communiqué indicates a serious commitment from the involved parties to support Syria in its plight and work towards lasting stability in the region.
