Organized Assassination Operation Indicates Active Cells Targeting Influential Personalities in Alawite Community, Threatening Civil Peace in Coastal Regions
Sheikh Jaber Issa, coordinator of the National Reconciliation Initiative in Syria, and two of his companions were targeted by unknown gunmen who ambushed them with a hail of bullets on the road connecting Tartus and Damascus. The murdered Sheikh belongs to Dahr Batrou village in Tartus and is from the Alawite minority.
Official statistics revealed a rise in crime rates since the collapse of the previous regime across Syrian governorates to 108 criminal incidents, resulting in 187 citizen deaths: 174 men, 8 women, and 5 children.

Damascus countryside: 9 crimes (16 men)
Homs: 19 crimes (41 men, 3 women)
Hama: 27 crimes (51 men, 2 women)
Latakia: 11 crimes (1 woman, 19 men)
Aleppo: 12 crimes (13 men, 2 children)
Sweida: 5 crimes (8 men)
Tartus: 8 crimes (9 men, 1 child)
Daraa: 4 crimes (4 men)
Quneitra: 1 crime (4 men)
Idlib: 2 crimes (2 men)
Deir ez-Zor: 1 crime (1 man)
