Egypt strongly condemned in official statement Monday Israel's seizure of buffer zone adjacent to Syrian territory and neighboring command centers, considering it usurpation of Syrian lands, flagrant violation of sovereignty, and explicit breach of 1974 Disengagement Agreement.

Egyptian Foreign Ministry statement emphasized Israeli actions contradict international law, violate Syrian territory unity and integrity, reflecting exploitation of Syria's turbulent situation to occupy more land and impose new reality incompatible with international law.

Egyptian statement urged Security Council and international powers to assume responsibilities and take strict position against Israeli aggression on Syria, ensuring sovereignty over all territories.

Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz revealed Monday his forces' control of additional buffer zone areas on Syrian border overnight, according to Ynet, while Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar stated forces deployment in Syria is "limited and temporary step."

Katz added: "Israeli army seized additional points in buffer zone with Syria overnight."

Katz indicated directing Israeli army "for immediate movement in Syria" aiming to "establish security zone free of heavy strategic weapons and infrastructure that could threaten Israel," according to his statement.
