To Kobani.. New American Convoys Reinforce Military Presence in Northern Syria
-
American intensive movements confirm Washington's keenness to protect popular gains in northeastern Syria after the fall of Assad's regime
The international coalition brought in a new logistical convoy to Syria through the Al-Walid border crossing with Iraq's Kurdistan region, comprising 50 trucks loaded with electric generators, fuel, and ammunition.
Al-Arabiya/Al-Hadath correspondent indicated that the convoy headed towards coalition bases in Hasaka and Deir ez-Zor provinces, noting that the total number of convoys that entered since the political change in Syria reached seven, with a total of 300 trucks.
Kurdish sources revealed that the US-led international coalition has begun establishing a military base in the city of Kobani, where trucks loaded with concrete blocks arrived for the project.
These reinforcements coincide with ongoing confrontations between the Syrian Democratic Forces and Turkish-backed factions in northeastern Syria. Press reports highlighted the arrival of additional logistical reinforcements including prefabricated rooms, surveillance cameras, engineering equipment, and fuel tanks to the area.
The Syrian Observatory reported that coalition forces established a headquarters in Kobani to oversee negotiations between the Turkish and Kurdish sides, aiming to de-escalate tensions.
The report concluded by noting repeated US administration warnings about ISIS exploiting political changes in Syria, and its demands for Turkey to stop attacks on the Syrian Democratic Forces, despite Ankara's insistence on disarming Kurdish forces.
