Syrian Democratic Forces arrest 30 Isil members in eastern Syria

The Syrian Democratic Forces have announced in a statement that they had been able to arrest 30 members of Isil sleeper cells in the eastern countryside of Deir al-Zour in Syria.


Late midnight on Monday, The anti-terrorist units of the Syrian Democratic Forces in Deir al-Zour region, in coordination with the international coalition forces to fight Isil, have successfully arrested 30 members of Isil sleeper cells during simultaneous raids targeting several villages in the eastern countryside of Deir al-Zour.


The counter-terrorism units have identified 21 separate targets in the villages of Thiban, al-Shuhail, al-Zer and West of al-Basira after receiving solid intelligence from their field sources about movements of sleeper cells linked to Isil in the villages.


Regarding coordination with the coalition, the statement confirmed : "In coordination with the international coalition forces, The units carried out simultaneous raids on the mentioned targets. It all began at one o'clock after midnight on Monday and continued until 4 am, during which the units were able to arrest 30 Isil terrorists and other suspects. "


The units took over a quantity of weapons and ammunition during their raids on the targets – secret dens – where the terrorists used to plan their terrorist activities.
