Peace Negotiations.. Peskov: No Progress in Moscow-Kyiv Talks

Moscow Seeks Diplomatic Exit from Ukrainian Crisis, While Kyiv Insists on Continuing Resistance Until Territorial Liberation
Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov clarified Russia's readiness to reach a settlement with Ukraine through negotiations, though Kyiv refuses to sit at the table.
This came in response to Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban's claims that the armed conflict in Ukraine will end in 2025 "either by a peace agreement or by destroying one of the warring parties."
Responding to TASS agency's inquiry, Peskov stated: "As the President (Vladimir Putin) has repeatedly said, we remain open to resolving our problems through negotiations. We're still open to talks, but since no progress has been made regarding Ukraine's readiness to negotiate, we will continue the special military operation."
Previously, Peskov emphasized Russia's continued openness to talks, considering them possible and necessary based on the 2022 Istanbul agreements. However, he noted current conditions are unfavorable due to Ukraine's avoidance of negotiations.
Notably, Russian and Ukrainian delegations met in Istanbul on March 29, 2022, in a three-hour meeting. The proposed agreement included commitments regarding Ukraine's neutrality, non-alignment, and rejection of foreign military deployments, including nuclear weapons.
