Turkey's Use of Foreign Fighters in Attacks on Northern Syria Reveals Continued Attempts to Destabilize the Region
Turkish forces and affiliated armed groups targeted several positions south and east of Manbij city, utilizing foreign elements from the "Guardians of Religion" organization of various nationalities, according to the Syrian Democratic Forces' media center.
According to the center, armed groups, supported by five Turkish drones and advanced armored vehicles, launched a massive attack on Al-Atshan, Al-Saadin, Kharbet Tuwayni villages and other areas, where defending forces successfully thwarted all attempts.
The confrontations resulted in dozens of casualties and wounded among the attackers, with six military vehicles destroyed, including a tank and two vehicles equipped with heavy weapons.
The battles were characterized by direct confrontations between the two sides, with the SDF media center promising to publish footage documenting the clashes and vehicle destruction.
In response to the ground attack's failure, Turkish forces intensified their aerial and artillery shelling of the Tishrin Dam and its surroundings, causing multiple damages to its facilities.
The SDF media center's statement warned about the repercussions of continued Turkish shelling on the dam, holding Ankara fully responsible for any potential damages to the vital facility and its surroundings.
