Iranian Militias Target U.S.-Led Coalition Forces in Al-Shaddadi
Local sources reported that Iranian militias targeted the U.S.-led coalition base in Al-Shaddadi, southern Al-Hasakah, with two missiles, prompting a response from the coalition to the source of the attack.
According to the local news network "Al-Khabour," the Iranian militias fired the missiles, with coalition forces managing to intercept one of them in the base’s airspace. The network also indicated that coalition aircraft struck positions in the mountainous A’anad region west of Al-Shaddadi, where the rockets were launched.
Following this, a cargo plane from the international coalition landed at the Al-Shaddadi base, carrying weapons and military equipment, according to sources.
Recently, Syria has witnessed a notable escalation in hostilities between Iranian militias and the U.S.-led coalition forces, particularly in the northern and eastern regions of the country. Attacks are often concentrated in areas that house coalition military bases, which are considered part of international efforts to combat the ISIS organization in Syria.
Civilians living near coalition bases or Iranian militia positions are enduring constant fear due to the mutual bombardment, which directly threatens their lives and destroys infrastructure and homes. This escalation has also led to the displacement of some residents from their areas in search of safety.
