Suweida governorate witnessed explosive tremors Saturday evening, coinciding with Israeli aircraft movements in the airspace, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

The death toll from Israeli airstrikes targeting the Scientific Research Complex and warehouses near defense factories in the Al-Safira area east of Aleppo rose to 5 dead and 12 injured.

The Israeli Air Force began, after midnight Friday-Saturday, targeting two Syrian regime military sites frequented by Hezbollah fighters in Saraqib.

The Syrian regime's news agency "SANA" earlier claimed "preliminary information about Israeli aggression on the city's surroundings."

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights highlighted that the raids targeted military industries and scientific research facilities belonging to the Syrian regime in Al-Safira, indicating the presence of Iranian Revolutionary Guard elements and pro-Tehran groups at those sites.

These attacks fall within the series of military operations Israel has been conducting for years against Iranian positioning in Syria, which notably escalated with intensifying confrontation in Lebanon since last September.

Pro-Iran militias control military centers and facilities in Syria housing thousands of fighters, in addition to owning civilian and service institutions in various areas, especially around Deir ez-Zor.

Since the Syrian crisis eruption in 2011, Israel has conducted hundreds of airstrikes, targeting regime forces' positions, Iranian facilities, and Hezbollah centers.

Israeli raids frequency has accelerated recently with war escalation on Lebanon, with special focus on Hezbollah-linked areas.

Israel recently enhanced its targeting of areas adjacent to Syrian-Lebanese border crossings, which witnessed tens of thousands crossing fleeing intensive Israeli bombardment on Lebanon.
