Israeli Airstrikes Target Sanaa International Airport
An Israeli source informed Sky News Arabia that the Israeli Air Force launched airstrikes on Sanaa International Airport in Yemen. These strikes specifically targeted the control tower and the main runway at the airport, according to local media reports.
These attacks coincided with a speech by Houthi leader Abdul-Malik al-Houthi that was broadcast live, further escalating tensions in the region.
In this context, the Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth noted that previous airstrikes on Yemen had not produced decisive results, leading Israel to consider intensifying its military operations against the Houthi group.
The report explained that after the Houthis launched four missiles towards Israel within one week, Israeli officials acknowledged that the Houthis represent "a challenge that is difficult to overcome."
The report also indicated that achieving a radical shift in the balance of power in the region may require close coordination with the new American administration led by Donald Trump, which is set to take office on January 20.
