Gargash: Tensions in the Gulf are addressed only politically

UAE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Anwar Gargash said that tensions in the Gulf are only being addressed politically.

Gargash stated earlier that the recent developments are calling for the international community to move towards conserving security and stability in the region, emphasizing that wisdom is necessary and preventing further tension requires collective attention.

Tensions have escalated since Iran dropped a US air force over the waters of the Persian Gulf before US President Trump confirmed that he had stopped the US retaliatory attack on Iran 10 minutes before it began, stating again that he had not completely withdrawn the decision to bomb Iran, but just postponed.

Trump said that strong fresh sanctions would be imposed on Iran, hours after emphasizing that if the Iranians abandon their nuclear program, he would be "their best friends."

"We will impose additional tough sanctions on Iran," the USA president tweeted, adding that Iran can never have a nuclear weapon.
