Turkish attacks on Syrian territories continued throughout 2024, using border protection and confrontation with the Syrian Democratic Forces as pretexts, while covering up violations by promoting civilian protection agreements in Idlib areas known as "Putin-Erdogan" agreements.

Statistics from the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights revealed that 88 civilian casualties (17 children, 6 women, and 65 men and youth) fell as a result of Turkish attacks, whether through border guard gunfire or ground and air bombardment by warplanes and drones in the Autonomous Administration areas, Syrian Democratic Forces areas, and various regions, in addition to the killing of 103 military personnel.

The Observatory counted 224 attacks by Turkish drones on the Autonomous Administration areas, resulting in 115 casualties and injuring about 149 people, both military and civilian.

Turkish raids targeted 19 vital centers, causing power outages in 9 major cities, and destroying power transformer stations, gas plants, and industrial and service facilities.

The Observatory noted that 18 civilians, including two children, were killed by Turkish border guard "Jandarma" gunfire while attempting to cross in search of safety, while 41 others, including two children, were injured.

The Syrian Observatory called for referring the border strip killing file by the "Turkish Jandarma" to competent international courts to hold those responsible for killing Syrian civilians accountable.
