Iranian state media quoted Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi expecting Iran, Turkey, and Russia foreign ministers' meeting within Astana process December 7-8 at Doha Forum to discuss Syrian developments.

Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (formerly Nusra Front) with other armed factions launched unprecedented surprise attack on Aleppo Wednesday, fully controlling the city yesterday, plus dozens of villages in Hama and Idlib countryside.

Astana process formed by Syrian opposition conference participants in Kazakhstan's capital during May and October 2015, representing diplomatic platform including various military forces in Syria.

Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov held Saturday phone talks with Turkish and Iranian counterparts discussing Syria developments following HTS attacks on Aleppo, Idlib, and Hama.

Lavrov discussed Syria situation and Astana peace process with Turkish Foreign Minister Fidan, expressing "deep concern over dangerous developments in Aleppo and Idlib provinces," per Russian Foreign Ministry statement.

Araqchi told Russian counterpart armed faction attacks in Syria are "part of Israeli-American plan to destabilize region," calling for coordination with Moscow against HTS and allies' movements.

Turkish Foreign Ministry sources revealed expected Iranian Foreign Minister Araqchi visit to Turkey next Monday.

UN announced recent northwest Syria escalation displaced about 50,000 people, while EU called for de-escalation, as Russian and Syrian warplanes continue airstrikes responding to armed faction attacks.
