Israeli Foreign Minister Describes the New Syrian Government as a Terrorist Group
وزير الخارجية الإسرائيلي يصف الحكومة السورية الجديدة بـ مجموعة إر.ها.بية

Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar stated in an interview with the "Jerusalem Post" that the newly formed Syrian government represents "a terrorist group from Idlib" that has managed to take control of the capital, Damascus.

Sa'ar noted that the international community views this government as a new and stable regime, aimed at facilitating the return of Syrian refugees to their homeland.

In his remarks, Sa'ar described the new regime as an Islamic system, reflecting Israeli concerns over the political developments in Syria and their impact on regional security.

These statements come at a time when the region is experiencing complex political transformations and increasing discussions about the future of Syrian refugees.

The Israeli government continues to monitor the situation in Syria closely, as this stance reflects warnings about the potential dangers arising from the growing influence of Islamist groups in the region and their impact on Israeli national security.

On December 8, 2024, the Ba'athist regime led by President Bashar al-Assad collapsed during a major offensive launched by opposition forces, with Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham leading the attack supported by armed factions, including the Turkish-backed Syrian National Army.
