Iranian Advisor Ali Larijani's Diplomatic Mission to Syria and Lebanon
علي لاريجاني

Ali Larijani, a senior advisor to Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and a member of the Expediency Discernment Council of Iran, recently completed a diplomatic visit to Damascus and Beirut, where he conveyed a message to Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri. Larijani noted that he would leave the specifics of the message for them to disclose.

During his visit, Larijani emphasized that the messages he carried were "from the Leader of the Revolution and the Republic directly," aiming to "support the resistance and the peoples of Lebanon and Syria," as reported by the Al-Mayadeen channel.

Regarding the American draft proposal delivered to Berri aimed at halting the "aggression" against Lebanon, Larijani stated that Iran would support any decision made by the resistance and the government of Lebanon. He mentioned that the draft could potentially lead to a future resolution, provided that Washington and Israel refrain from interfering with it.

Describing Hezbollah, Larijani asserted, "Hezbollah is a rational and logical party, with many wise and politically mature leaders. We have confidence in them and their decisions." He further remarked that the resistance is mature and possesses sound thinking, asserting that they do not require advice from anyone; rather, it is they who provide counsel.

Last Thursday, Larijani arrived in Damascus with an official delegation, where he met with Bashar al-Assad and several Syrian officials.

The "Presidency of the Republic" account on Facebook shared details of the discussions between Assad and Larijani, which focused on regional developments, particularly the ongoing Israeli aggression against Palestine and Lebanon, and the urgent need to halt these actions.

In conclusion, Larijani reaffirmed Iran's commitment to supporting the Syrian government and its readiness to provide various forms of assistance, although he did not specifically address the issue of ongoing Israeli airstrikes on Syria.
