UAE records 2,013 new COVID-19 cases in 24 hours, five deaths

The United Arab Emirates has registered 2,013 new COVID-19 cases, 2,240 recoveries and five deaths in the last 24 hours, state news agency WAM reported Saturday.


The latest numbers bring the death toll to 1,433 and active cases to 16,469, according to the country’s National Crisis and Emergency Management Authority (NCEMA).


Since the beginning of the pandemic, the country has confirmed a total of 438,638 coronavirus cases.

The UAE has made a tremendous effort at curbing the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on society as a whole.


Vaccinations have been picking up pace, with 7,124,146 doses already administered, NCEMA figures showed.
