Two police officers in hospital after being stabbed in central London

Two police officers are being treated in hospital after they were stabbed by a man with a knife near Leicester Square in central London, the Sky news reported.
The Metropolitan Police said a Taser was used during the incident at around 6am and a man, in his 20s, believed to be in possession of a knife was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and assaulting an emergency worker.
"He was taken to a hospital for treatment where he remains at this time. Inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident are ongoing."
A young female police officer suffered a potentially life-changing stab wound to her arm while a male officer was stabbed three times in the neck and once in the chest.
He is expected to make a full recovery, said Metropolitan Police Commissioner, Sir Mark Rowley.

London Mayor Sadiq Khan has condemned the attack and called for anyone with information about the incident to contact the police.
He described it as "utterly appalling", adding that the officers "were doing their duty and assisting the public at this momentous time for our country".
