On Thursday night, the International Coalition air force carried out a series of airstrikes targeting sites and vehicles belonging to Iranian factions in Deir ez-Zor governorate, eastern Syria. According to a military source close to the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, the operation included four precise airstrikes.

The first three strikes targeted headquarters and military battalions of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard in the areas of Harabesh, Al-Ummal, and Jabal Tharda in Deir ez-Zor city. The fourth strike targeted a cargo vehicle near the Syrian-Iraqi border, coming from the railway border crossing between the two countries.

The source reported that the attacks resulted in the death of three elements as an initial toll, in addition to injuring others and causing significant material damage to the targeted sites. In the aftermath of the raids, dozens of elements from Iranian factions were observed fleeing from their work headquarters in Deir ez-Zor, leaving their weapons behind, fearing exposure to bombardment.

These raids come in the context of the International Coalition's ongoing efforts to confront Iranian influence in Syria and the region. These operations reflect a continuous strategy aimed at weakening the military infrastructure of pro-Iranian factions in Syria, which may affect their operational capability and spread in the region.

The recurrence of such attacks indicates a potential escalation in the confrontation between the International Coalition and pro-Iranian forces in Syria, which may lead to more tension in the region. The psychological effect of these raids on Iranian faction elements, as evidenced by the mentioned cases of fleeing, may have a significant impact on the morale and effectiveness of these forces in the future.
