Hojjat-Al-Islam Muradi, head of the Ahwazi courts in Iran, has vowed to sentence 22 young Ahwazi to death after members of Iran's Revolutionary Guards were killed during an attack on a military parade in the city of Ahwaz last year.


The families of the detained young men fear that the Iranian authorities will execute them at the end of September, in conjunction with the first anniversary of the attack on members of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards, carried out by four young men from Ahwaz during a military parade held in the city of Ahwaz. As a result of this attack many officers and commanders of the Revolutionary Guards.


The families of the young people called on human rights organizations and institutions to act immediately and put pressure on the Iranian regime to stop the death sentences against their children, who extracted confessions of planning the attack, under torture in the detention centers of the Iranian authorities.


In the same context, the military parade of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards in the city of Ahvaz, on 22 September 2018, was attacked by four youths, which resulted in the killing of 24 officers of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, where the perpetrators of the operation were killed during the attack.


The Revolutionary Guards then carried out a large-scale arrests of some 1,000 Ahwazi activists, and confessions were extracted from some of them under torture. The confessions were then shown on Iranian state television, among them “Ali Saddam Al-Suwaidi”, the brother of Mr. Adel Al-Suwaidi, a prominent politician and leader. In the movement of the Arab struggle for the liberation of Ahwaz, resident in the Kingdom of the Netherlands.


According to Ahwazi followers, they see that these large-scale arrests was carried out by the Iranian authorities to cover up the failure of the security services in Ahwaz and the executions to be carried out late this month, and to avenge the Ahwazi people who suffered heavy losses for the Revolutionary Guard officers and soldiers.
