Seven members of Iranian militias were killed in a double attack carried out by ISIS cells targeting their positions and a support convoy in eastern Homs countryside.

Local sources reported that dozens of ISIS militants launched an assault using medium and heavy weapons on the sites of the “Fatemiyoun Brigade” and the Iranian “Revolutionary Guard” between the towns of Al-Sukhnah and Palmyra, east of Homs.

The attack led to intense clashes between ISIS cells and militia members, resulting in the deaths of two militants and injuries to others, according to the local site "North Press."

The source further noted that the Iranian Revolutionary Guard sent military reinforcements to the site of the clashes. However, ISIS cells targeted more than three vehicles with explosive devices, leading to the deaths of five additional members and injuring several others.

The Syrian Badia region, extending from eastern Homs to Deir ez-Zor province on the Iraqi border, has seen an escalation in attacks carried out by ISIS cells against Syrian regime forces and their allied militias.
