Russian foreign intelligence director meets CIA director in Moscow

The Xinhua reported, Russia's Foreign Intelligence Service said its Director Sergei Naryshkin met U.S. Central Intelligence Agency Director William Burns in Moscow on Tuesday.

The Russian intelligence service said in a brief statement on Wednesday, at the initiative of the American side, the officials discussed interdepartmental interaction with an emphasis on fighting terrorism globally.

Also on Tuesday, Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev held talks with Burns in Moscow to "discuss Russian-American relations."

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told a daily briefing on Wednesday that Russian President Vladimir Putin was informed of the outcome of both meetings.

Peskov said: "Dialogue at this level and on such sensitive issues is extremely important for bilateral relations and for the exchange of views on the problems we have."
