The Kremlin expressed optimism Sunday about president-elect Donald Trump's statements regarding Ukraine, though remaining reserved about predicting his future positions after taking office.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov highlighted in talks with official media: "The signals are positive. Trump said during his campaign that he looks at it (the conflict in Ukraine) through agreements, and that he can make a deal that could lead to peace."

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy revealed his country faced an unprecedented Russian attack with 145 drones overnight. Zelenskyy appealed via "X" platform to Western allies to enhance military aid, noting that "Russia launched 145 Shahed drones and other attack drones against Ukraine last night."

Ukrainian Air Forces announced via "Telegram" their success in downing 62 Russian drones overnight. The Air Forces detailed in their statement that the drones launched from Primorsko-Akhtarsk, Oryol, and Bryansk regions in Russia and Cape Chuda in Crimean Peninsula, confirming air defense, missile defense, and electronic warfare systems' response to the attack.

The statement explained that "by 9:30 AM Sunday, about 62 enemy drones were intercepted" in various regions of Ukraine, 67 drones disappeared from radar screens in different areas, while 10 Russian drones left Ukrainian airspace heading toward Moldova, Belarus, and Russia.
