Russia Announces Control of a New Village in Eastern Ukraine

In a new announcement, Russia confirmed today, Saturday, that its forces have managed to take control of a new village in a strategic area of eastern Ukraine, according to Russian news agencies.

In an official statement, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported that its forces "liberated the town of Ostrovski" in the Donetsk People's Republic. The ministry clarified that units from the Southern Military District successfully seized the town of Ostrovski in this region.

The statement read: "As a result of the ongoing operations carried out by units of the Southern Military District, the village of Ostrovski, located within the Donetsk People's Republic, has been liberated."

In a related context, Reuters reported from other Russian news agencies that Russian forces were able to take control of the village of Kostiantynivka in Donetsk Oblast in eastern Ukraine on Friday.
