Precise Strikes on Strategic Sites.. Israel Destroys Hezbollah Tunnels
-
The continuation of military operations in southern Lebanon indicates Israel's determination to achieve its security objectives, regardless of international pressure or potential regional repercussion
The Israeli Defense Forces revealed in a statement issued today, Sunday, their success in destroying a network of tunnels belonging to Hezbollah organization in the southern regions of Lebanon.
The official spokesman for the Israeli army, Avichay Adraee, explained the details of the operation through his account on the "X" platform, sharing a video documenting the discovery of rocket launch pads, tunnel entrances, military facilities, as well as combat equipment in southern Lebanon.
Adraee added: "During the past twenty-four hours, units from the Golani Brigade succeeded in detecting tunnel entrances, weapons depots, pits designated for storing ammunition, in addition to gathering areas belonging to elements of the Hezbollah terrorist organization."
He indicated that Israeli warplanes targeted 150 military sites belonging to Hezbollah during the last day, including anti-tank missile launch pads, terrorist gatherings, command centers, as well as underground facilities and weapons stores belonging to the organization.
In a related context, Adraee reported in a later tweet that Israeli forces were able to eliminate groups tasked with operating anti-armor weapons belonging to the so-called "Radwan Force" in southern Lebanon.
He continued: "Over the past few days, our forces discovered and destroyed a Hezbollah command center, which was used to plan and execute shelling operations towards border settlements in recent months. Weapons stores were also found in the vicinity of the complex."
The Israeli army added: "During one of the combing operations, our units detected an ambush prepared by Hezbollah elements, where weapons were found hidden inside a vehicle belonging to the organization. Based on intelligence information, a pit booby-trapped with explosives was discovered, which was prepared to target IDF forces in the area."
Israel has intensified its raids on the southern suburb of Beirut, Hezbollah's stronghold, in recent weeks, and continued to launch intensive air strikes on various areas in southern Lebanon. The Israeli army announced the elimination of 440 Hezbollah elements, including about 30 leaders.
These confrontations have caused the displacement of nearly one million people since October 8th last year, when Hezbollah began what it called a "support front" for Gaza. The number of casualties has risen to nearly two thousand, most of whom fell during the past few weeks.
