Military Factions Attack Regime Positions in Aleppo Countryside Amid Increased Shelling and Displacement
ردع العدوان

Military factions launched an assault on Syrian regime positions in western Aleppo countryside on Wednesday morning, while the regime responded by shelling the city of Darat Izzah with rockets, leading to widespread displacement.

A correspondent for Syria TV reported that the factions in northwestern Syria began their attack on two fronts in western Aleppo countryside, with the regime's initial response being the bombardment of Darat Izzah with dozens of rockets.

Media outlets close to Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham stated that these attacks were a response to the regime’s shelling of northwestern Syria. Military sources indicated, "The regime's military mobilization poses a threat to the security of the liberated areas, and it is our duty to defend our people against this imminent danger that targets their existence and safety."

Syria TV reporters mentioned that the sounds of warplanes could be heard throughout most of Idlib province, amid large-scale displacement from the eastern towns towards the interior of the province and the Turkish border.

The Syrian Civil Defense reported the displacement of hundreds of families from areas in eastern Idlib and western Aleppo as the intensity of shelling by regime forces, Russia, and their allies has increased, targeting towns and villages with airstrikes and artillery shells. The humanitarian situation in northwestern Syria is dire, exacerbated by years of war waged by the regime and Russia, the lack of safe shelter to protect civilians from attacks, and declining temperatures.
