Kurdish Autonomous Administration Presents Initiative to Solve the Syrian Crisis

In an official statement issued on Monday, the Kurdish Autonomous Administration in northeastern Syria announced an initiative aimed at reaching an agreement with the Syrian government, emphasizing the necessity of working together to establish a common roadmap for resolving the crisis.
The Autonomous Administration highlighted the importance of ending the policies of exclusion and marginalization that have negatively impacted the country and called on all political forces to participate in building a new Syria, including during the transitional period.
It urged all Syrian parties to reassess their positions towards one another, focusing on shared national interests as a priority. The administration expressed its belief that cooperation between the Autonomous Administration and the political administration in Damascus would yield significant benefits for all Syrians and contribute to successfully overcoming this difficult stage.
The Autonomous Administration praised the positive support provided by Arab countries and friends of the Syrian people and stressed the importance of continuing this support to build a new Syria based on democratic principles that guarantee the rights of all communities.
The initiative outlined ten key steps:
1. Preserving the unity and sovereignty of Syrian territory and protecting it from Turkish attacks.
2. Halting all military operations on Syrian soil to open the door for comprehensive national dialogue.
3. Adopting a stance of tolerance and distancing from hate and betrayal rhetoric among Syrians.
4. Convening an urgent meeting of Syrian political forces in Damascus to unify visions related to the transitional phase.
5. Enhancing the effective participation of women in political practices.
6. Equitably distributing wealth and economic resources among all Syrian regions, as they belong to all Syrians.
7. Ensuring the return of forcibly displaced indigenous populations to their areas, preserving their cultural heritage, and ending policies of demographic change.
8. Continuing the fight against terrorism to prevent the resurgence of ISIS, through cooperation between the Syrian Democratic Forces and the international coalition.
9. Ending the occupation and granting the Syrian people the right to determine their future while applying the principle of good neighborliness.
10. Welcoming the active role of Arab countries, the United Nations, the international coalition forces, and all international stakeholders concerned with the Syrian issue.
