Jordan signs soft loan agreement with Germany to build public schools

The Xinhua reported, Jordan on Tuesday signed a 50-million-euro (56.26 million U.S. dollars) soft loan agreement with Germany to support establishing new public schools across the kingdom.


Jordan's Planning and International Cooperation Ministry said in a statement that the project, as part of the government economic priority program for 2021-2023, aimed to improve educational infrastructure and the quality of elementary education.

Planning and International Cooperation Minister Nasser Shraideh voiced appreciation of the German assistance to Jordan, which has contributed to several priority development projects, mainly in water, education, technical and vocational training sectors.

The minister added that this aid reflects Germany's understanding of the Jordanian economy's challenges and its readiness to stand by Jordan as a trustworthy partner through its commitment to providing financial and technical aid.
