Israeli military spokesman Avichay Adraee revealed the elimination of Hashem Safi al-Din, head of Hezbollah's Executive Council, along with a group of the party's intelligence leaders three weeks ago.

Adraee announced via X platform that Israeli warplanes, with intelligence guidance, conducted an airstrike on Hezbollah's intelligence command headquarters in Beirut's southern suburb.

He explained that the operation targeted an underground facility housing about 25 intelligence personnel, including Saeeb Ayash, head of aerial collection, and Mahmoud Mohamed Shaheen, head of Hezbollah intelligence in Syria.

Adraee highlighted that Safi al-Din, Nasrallah's cousin, was a member of the Shura Council and highly influential in party decision-making, especially during the Secretary-General's absences.

According to the statement, the operation included the elimination of Hussein Ali Hazima, commander of Hezbollah's intelligence staff, accusing him of participating in operations against Israeli forces, including the South Lebanon operation in February 1999.

The Israeli military spokesman concluded his statement by affirming the continuation of targeting Hezbollah leaders and anyone who poses a threat to Israel and its citizens.
