Iran exports fuel to Afghanistan at the request of Taliban
The Media Line reported according to Reuters, Iran is exporting fuel to Afghanistan at the request of the Taliban.
It said, the Iranian fuel exports to Afghanistan resumed a few days ago, after the Taliban seized power in the country as the US and other foreign troops neared completion of a withdrawal from Afghanistan.
The exports began after the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA), a government agency, lifted a ban on fuel exports to Afghanistan, which had been in place since Aug. 6 over concern about the safety of trading in the country.
The Taliban has cut tariffs on imports of fuel from Iran and other neighboring countries, offering a 70% discount.
