Humanitarian Tragedy: Identity-Based Killings and Property Destruction in Manbij

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, based on local sources in Manbij, has documented Turkish-backed factions carrying out identity-based executions and seizure of property belonging to Kurdish citizens, who number around 30,000 families in the city.

Turkish-backed armed factions launched a retaliatory campaign in the areas of Nawaja Quarter, Al-Asadiya, and Al-Jazeera Road, which included destroying civilian homes, looting their possessions, and humiliating residents. Initial reports indicate at least 3 casualties, including one woman.

Turkish artillery shelling on Zarfan village east of Manbij resulted in the death of 10 civilians, coinciding with a wave of civilian displacement towards the east of the Euphrates.

Manbij and its surroundings are witnessing a massive displacement of residents toward neighboring areas in the eastern countryside and the Kobani region, following the factions' invasion of the city as part of the "Dawn of Freedom" military operation.

Two children were killed due to Turkish artillery shelling on Tarmi village in the vicinity of Kobani.
